<itunes:summary>A weekly (sometimes more) podcast tracing a path through timeless sounds of our global underground. Electronic bass music, low-slung boom-bap and the soulful sound of Detroit influenced machines nestle amongst the hiss and crackle of vintage African polyrhythms, raw roots Reggae and criminally slept on Jazz. Heads High\'s remit is the dissolution of barriers in all spheres.

Each session is hosted by one of the Heads High team. As you listen, you\'ll come to understand each member\'s subtly different take on the core theme. Get on board...

Anyone whose been listening to my Heads High shows for SpaceinvaderRadio or represented at our Marketplace session of late will be only too aware that i’ve officially caught the Funky/Broken/Garage/Bashment/Soca bug thats been going around (more virulent than Swine Flu if you ask me). I don’t know whether its a reaction to the cruel snatching away of summer just as we were getting to know one another again, but I can’t get enough of the sound.

On perusing Heatwave’s excellent blog I came across this latest offering from Sticky of Ms. Dynamite Booo! fame. As you may or may not have heard, Sticky had his studio robbed recently, the theives making off with nigh on ten years of his work archived on his hard drives….i’ll pause here to let that sink in….apart from feeling for him personally, I also mourn the loss of the forthcoming heat that may never see the light of day. Karma is unavoidable so those responsible will undoubtably get theirs….for now though, here’s ‘Sticky Situation’ ft. Lady Chann. If you like the sound, I recommend checking out the JA Bashment meets UK Funky article over at Heatwave. Informative and comprehensive. Nice.
